The Arabic Electronic Literature conference at Dubai included the first e-lit performances in the Arab World. Many Arabic and Western e-lit pieces were featured by Phillipe Bootz from France, Jeneen Naji from Ireland, Mohamed Habibi from Saudi Arabia,  John Barber from the USA, Serge Bouchardon from France, Dene Grigar from the USA.

The first e-lit exhibit in the Arab World was held on Feb. 26, 2018, under the title “ELEKTRONIYA,” as a part of the Arabic Electronic Literature Conference at Dubai. The exhibit featured many Arabic and Western e-lit pieces and was attended by many scholars and artists such as Katherine Hayles.
